After storm Babet we decided to see what things were like further upriver at Wylam.
Immediately, you could see the Tyne was much higher and more swollen than normal, It crashed over the weir and rise above the cutwaters of the bridge.
The path along the river has been blocked by a fallen tree and the “beach” had disappeared under the river leaving the tree on an island.
Elsewhere, autumn was progressing, with the leaves continuing to change colour and fall.
