28th August 2022 Belsay & Bolam – Georgian Fun & Butterflies Galore

Off to Belsay today to see how things are getting on. The scaffolding is due to come down next week so will be nice to see the house again in all its glory.

Today was Georgian day, and there were entertainers and actors all in period costume. It was a delight to listen to them playing in the summer sunshine.

In the garden there were dozens of butterflies feeding on the abundant nectar from the many flowering plants.

After, we moved on to Bolam lake. The lake is partially covered with duckweed, probably due to the lack of fresh water entering because of drought. It wasn’t going to waste though, with the resident swans happily feeding on the abundant feast.
