Today was a free day. Fort William was only a 40 minute walk from our hotel, so with the rain holing off, we set off along the footpath beside the busy road. This walk is not for the faint hearted as there are lots of speeding lorries that can come too close for comfort.
Fort William was a little disappointing. It isn’t a large town, and apart from the usual shopping (there are some independent shops which was nice to see) the only are of interest was the Parade with its monuments and church.
