Another free day. We decided this time to walk along the road in the opposite direction.

The speeding traffic was even worse in this direction, with evidence of numerous cars having left the carriageway in the past and remnants of police tape. On our final day this road was closed after another serious accident, which the locals inform us are a regular occurance.

It is difficult to reach the loch, due to the dense vegetation and private properties, but we found a way down at the bridge over the Kiachnish river. Built in 1933, this is a concrete bridge, but with some architectural merit.

The weather was very moody, but we got some fine views over the loch, and the risk of dinking into the quagmire was worth it.
