The attractive wrinkled hornbill is native to forests in the Thai-Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo, Asia.

They mainly eat fruit and also small animals such as insects and frogs.

Conservation

Heavy deforestation in their forest habitat has led to wrinkled hornbills being classed as Endangered.

Our individuals at the zoo are part of the EAZA ex-situ breeding programme (EEP) for this species.
