Inscription on the rear of the Old Low Light, Clifford’s Fort, North Shields.
The inscription reads:
This apartm’ built 1733,
John Thompson, Esq., Master;
Mr Thos. Peighin, Deputy.
There was also a sundial in the centre which read:
Henry Towert, Master
Fugit Hora Sine Mora, 1729
(The hour flies without delay)
I will have to ask what became of it
