Group of a Peepshow

Ceramic group at the Bowes Museum, Co. Durham.

This charming peep show group is copied from a print of Charles-Nicolas Cochin (1715-1790) of about 1740. It is inspired by white unglazed ‘biscuit’ groups and figures made by the royal porcelain factory at Sevres.
