16th August 2021 North Shields – Ratty Island

A walk together along the “secret garden” to Tynemouth and Northumberland Park.

It’s surprising how advances some of the blackberries are given that it’s still mid-summer (although you wouldn’t know from the weather).

Lots of herring gulls around and I got a couple of good shots of those.

In Northumberland Park, there was a lot of activity on the small island, but no birds this time. You often see fleeing glimpses of rats around the pond, but there were two very much taking their time to have a snack. They were quite small so may only have been young. Not a massive fan, but they are all God’s creatures after all.
