The man has a drum under his right arm, the top of which is hinged, slung over his left shoulder on a band. In his left hand he holds a monkey inside his jacket. On his back is a magic lantern.

The woman holds a trumpet in her left hand and a lute-backed hurdy-gurdy is slung over her right shoulder, her right hand on the handle. An open bag is draped at her front.
