Full-length white marble statue, standing, wearing antique armour above the knees; holding a circular shield depicting St George and the dragon in his right hand on the ground, his left hand on his sword; his cuirass depicts a winged victory.
Commissioned by Prince Albert as a present for Queen Victoria’s birthday, May 24th 1842; completed in 1844
