An Investiture “Red” Chair, Caernarfon castle, Wales

Designed by Anthony Armstrong Jones, The Earl of Snowden.

Produced in 1969 and having a total production run of 4,000.

Manufactured by the Remploy factory in Bridgend South Wales, the chairs have beechwood frames with seats and backs constructed from preformed plywood, veneered in olive ash and stained in a vermillion red.

They could be bought for £12 after the investiture.
