Prop sarcophagus in Perth Museum, Perth, Scotland
This sarcophagus was originally created as a prop for Hammer Horror’s 1959 film production, ‘The Mummy’, in which it features.
After filming was completed, the sarcophagus was placed outside one of Perth’s cinemas to promote ticket sales. From here it was bought by McEwen’s of Perth and positioned in a window display in its St John’s Street department store.
