Gabriel Atkin (1897-1937)

Atkin was born in South Shields, the son of a builder. Before the First World War he showed promise as a water-colourist and he studied briefly at Armstrong College in Newcastle.

He submitted artworks to the Artists of the Northern Counties exhibitions that took place at the Laing Gallery from 1905 to 1935.
