Oil painting on canvas, Sir William Blackett, 1st Bt (d.1680), possibly by L. Schuneman (fl.c.1666/7-1681?). A half-length portraot if a man, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, his left hand held palm-upwards at his waist, in a full-bottomed wig, wearing a brown embroidered cloak, lace cravat and lace cuffs. The portrait is correctly inscribed on the back of the unlined canvas, ‘The first Sir William Blackett’.
