Dinner Time

Frederick Morgan (1847-1927)

This charming setting is a prosperous cottager’s home. This is indicated by the blue and white pottery and glass on the white tablecloth, and the presence of a joint of ham on the table, presided over by mother.

Until comparatively recently, meat was not a regular daily food for most people.
