Oil painting on canvas (oval), Julia Blackett, Lady Calverley (1686-1736), British (English) School, on reverse with name of sitter; later 18thC inscription on obverse: JULIA CALVERLEY./Dr: of Sr: Wm: BLACKETT. Bart:/Nat: 1683. Denat: 1736. A half-length portrait, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, dark hair with two curls on either side of her forehead, wearing a red dress fastened with jewels at breast and sleeve, over a white chemise. One of a set of four oval oil paintings.

Provenance: Given with the property to the National Trust in 1941 by Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan, 3rd Bt (1870 – 1958)
