A three-quarter-length portrait of the second wife of William Watson-Armstrong, 1st Lord Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside, seated and turned to the right, facing the viewer, in front of a tapestry with a fur-lined cloak over the back of her chair.
Provenance: Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 – 1987).
