25th/27th March 2022 Blackpool & Cleveleys – A Walk Down Memory Lane

We hadn’t been to Blackpool for 25 years, so for a break we decided to go back there to see what it’s like two decades and a pandemic later.

Time hasn’t been kind on Blackpool. There are a lot of boarded up buildings and although efforts have been made to smarten the promenade, you don’t have to go far to see that things haven’t been easy.

We arrived early afternoon, and took a short walk out. The hotel was near the tower and we walked along the North Pier, the weather was sunny and cool (to be expected) and in the spring sunshine, things didn’t look too bad.

On the Sunday, we bought a day tram ticket and travelled along the coast to Cleveleys. It’s a nice little town, with a promenade to walk along.

We travelled back to Blackpool, stopping off at the South Pier, then back down to the Central Pier and a short walk back to the hotel.
