25th February 2022 North Shields – Return of the Tufted Duck

Walking along Tyne Street, the sun was shining, and we could see work continuing on the protection jetty. The jib of the crane was raised in front of the New Low Light offering a new composition to photograph.

The crane helping build the new flats of Hudson Street was obviously in need of repair, and a couple of engineers with a head for heights were using an extending platform to carry out the repair. Better them than me!

In Northumberland Park, a lone tufted duck had joined the mallards. Wonder how long it will stay?

On the fish quay, the black-headed gulls continued to display their breeding plumage to different degrees.
