13th November 2021 Inveraray & Oban – A Bridge and a Tower

Before the bus set of this morning I took a few photos of the beautiful Loch Long, just outside the hotel. On our last visit I didn’t seem to get any decent pictures.

At Inveraray, we headed off gain to the castle. This time we pressed on a little further, and came across a monument to the slaughter of the Campbell leaders and the most fantastic Georgian bridge by John Adam. A visit to the war memorial and a quick look around the town ended our visit.

On then to Oban. The last time we were here the weather was awful. This time it was sunshine mixed with Scotch mist. I dragged Laurie all the way up to McCaig’s Tower, perched high up above the town. The tower isn’t much to write about, but the views from up here are amazing. We had a walk around the town (I bought a bunnet) before heading back to the hotel via the beautiful glens of the area.
