23rd September 2021 North Shields – Flying Ducks

My usual Shields walk today. Along Tyne Street there were some interesting autumnal berries and a clutch of bright red, juicy apples. We are definitely leaving summer behind.

In Northumberland Park, the mallard ducks were enjoying a bath until a herring gull swooped down and disturbed them. They took flight and I got a couple of nice shots as they headed towards the reeds.

On the fish quay, the motor barge that had been there for a while was preparing to leave. I razorbill was having a little snooze on the water that had accumulated in it.
