The seasons are turning and as the summer draws to a close,. we decided to make the most of a sunny Saturday and headed off to tow English Heritage buildings, Prudhoe Castle and Aydon Castle.
Prudhoe Castle is a small site, and relatively quiet today. The upstairs of the manor house is closed for the time being but the exhibition is open on the ground floor. We had lunch in the grounds in the late summer sunshine.
The drive to Aydon Castle is very enjoyable, especially with the roof down on the car. We were greeted by the mare and foul from our last visit. The foul is flourishing, a lovely sight in these depressing times.
The castle was again quiet, and I managed to get some decent pictures.
