Ray Lonsdale (b.1965)

Fiddler’s Green is a 10ft 6ins memorial created by sculptor Ray Lonsdale to honour fishermen who were killed doing their job after leaving the port. It is located at Clifford’s Fort, North Shields

A lone fisherman sitting on a mooring bollard, reflecting in thought. The design was adopted from a photograph taken on North Shields Fish Quay in the late 1950s by local photographer Harry Hann.
